Advice Only® Privacy Policy

Hall Financial Services, Inc. d/b/a Advice Only (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information collected from users of the Advice Only® mobile application (the “App”). Your use of the App signifies your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described.
It is important to note that while Advice Only® advisors contribute content and may offer services through direct referrals from the App, they maintain separate privacy policies that govern their individual practices. This App’s Privacy Policy applies solely to the App and not to any third-party advisor service.
Our systems collect the information you provide directly from us through the app. This information may include:
  • Name:  Users can input their preferred name into the app profile section. We do not share this information with any third party. However, we reference the inputted name when sending service and marketing-related emails.
  • Email Address:  Your email address is required to utilize certain App functions, specifically resetting a password and receiving payment receipts. We may also use your email address to communicate important account-related information, such as password changes and account deletion confirmations. Additionally, we may send promotional emails regarding our services, such as new courses or updates to existing materials. You can opt out of marketing and promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe option in the email footer of any email. Doing so will not suppress account-level service emails described above.
  • Location Information (City/State): To enhance the user experience, we provide an optional feature for users to input their city and state. This information allows users on their own accord to locate advisors in their area who may offer financial planning services through the Advice Only™ process. This information is not accessible to us or shared with any third party.
  • Phone:  Users can input their preferred phone number to utilize the 2-factor authentication feature and protect their data. We do not use this information or share it with any third party other than for authentication purposes.
We work hard to balance the level of privacy users desire so they feel comfortable knowing their personal information and data remain private. However, we also must balance this with maintaining the high-quality services our users also expect.
We recommend taking the following steps for users who desire to further anonymize the limited information we collect for our account servicing, analytics and marketing needs.
We utilize a third-party payment processor (Stripe) to facilitate course payments. The payment information you provide in-app is not visible to us. Stripe utilizes “on-the-fly processing,” which is a technique used by payment processors where sensitive data is processed in real-time but not stored.
Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we do not share or sell your personal information with third parties. We may disclose your information as required by law, such as to follow a subpoena or other legal process.
Each advisor listed in our network has an individual privacy policy and the privacy policy of the company they are associated with. In no way are these firms or advisor policies related to or applicable to our app. Individual policies do not affect the overall app privacy policy and apply solely when a user decides of their own free will to engage with an advisor for personal advisory services wholly separate from app interactions, course purchases, and the general use of our app.

We take steps to ensure that our third-party service providers are obligated to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Please refer to each company’s respective privacy policies for more information on their privacy practices.
You retain ownership of the information you provide while using the App. We do not claim any ownership rights over your data or utilize your data for any purpose other than what is outlined in this Privacy Policy and in our terms and conditions. We do not sell or share your data. In the limited and rare situation that our developers are required to diagnose software issues, they may be inadvertently exposed to your data. However, this access is unintentional, and we are not liable for any unintended exposure in such circumstances.
While we strive to provide you with access to your information within the app, unforeseen outages, capacity limitations, or user errors may disrupt access. You are encouraged to independently maintain copies of important information.
You can permanently delete purchased courses and information you input into our system by selecting “delete account” in your user profile within the app. Once you have elected this option, we cannot reinstate this information.
We understand that security is important to our users, and we use commercially appropriate security measures to protect your information. This includes offering safeguards such as encryption where possible, two-factor authentication, and encouraging strong passwords.
However, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission over the Internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security over your data.
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Your continued use of the App after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
